Hello
A Bit About Me
I'm Ceyda, an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher with an enthusiasm for fostering meaningful connections through sharing and learning.
I graduated from Marmara University in Turkey and have worked both at home and abroad in educational settings.
Throughout my career, I have guided young learners on their journeys in EFL. Working with children has always been a source of joy for me, as I find their energy and curiosity about the world inspiring.
My interest in education goes beyond teaching English; I'm deeply curious about the pedagogies used across different countries and how they shape learners. This curiosity led me to Finland, where I pursued my master's degree. During my studies, I focused on the role of young learners’ self-reflection skills in foreign language learning. I noticed that while teachers often reflect on students’ progress, students themselves can benefit from developing their own reflective practices, which can support their learning journey.
I’m particularly interested in how different ways of knowing and learning can be integrated into educational settings. I believe in a holistic approach to education that nurtures not only the mind but also the heart and body, enriching both individuals and the collective. Currently, I’m exploring and appreciating the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and its integration into early foreign language education.
Looking ahead, I aspire to create EFL lessons, while traveling the world to apply them as a part of my doctoral research. Rooted in the beauty of nature, mythologies, and art, these lessons incorporate songs, stories, rhymes, and verses to ignite children’s imaginations, touch their souls through the power of language, and awaken a sense of wonder for the world. By highlighting the connections between the self and a larger whole, these lessons seek to deepen children’s awareness and appreciation of the world around them, while helping them recognize their unique place within it.

Through my virtual presence, I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and collaborators on this journey. For this process, I’ve started taking illustration and ukulele lessons. If you'd like to support my journey, you may want to take a look at the courses section. All the revenue will be used for the illustration and ukulele courses that I take; this will also be useful for my doctoral studies.
You might also consider supporting me in another way: In the summer of 2024, I took a beaded embroidery course at the Isparta Public Education Center in Turkey where I learned to embroider with beads, and I enjoy working on them. You can check out what I've made in my online shop, or if you have a specific motif in mind, feel free to send it to me. If it's something I can do, I’d be happy to discuss the details with you.
